Decoherence
Decoherence developed from an interest in Quantum Entanglement, a scientific theory about interconnectivity on an atomic level. According to this theory, entangled particles simultaneously influence each other regardless of proximity. This entangling and decohering (separating) is happening everywhere, constantly.
What begins as a macro-level replication of this theory becomes an attempt at heightened togetherness. The dance necessitates extreme attention from the interpreters and composer whose real time decision-making within the score sets the work’s pace.
It is an urgent cry for interdependence and a reflection of the depth of our desire to connect.
